Biomedical Engineering 5 years?

Is biomedical engineering a 5 year degree?

I ask because I was offered a be on time loan
basically if I take this loan and I graduate on time it will be deferred or in other words forgiven and I won't have to pay it back. The best part is that I can get one for every semester.

Now if I get accepted into BME I need to know if i have an extra year to finish all of my classes or if I'm going to need to take summer classes and maybe squeeze an extra class into a semester.

If it's not a 5 year plan...I dunno if I would take the loan because I might not be able to handle 16-18 hour semesters.

its a really packed 4 year degree, but yea, meant to be done in 4 years. Here’s the degree plan in case you havent seen it

yeah I’ve seen that. It seems kind of unrealistic to expect students to do good and finish in that short amount of time…looks like im gonna be taking summer classes

I looked at the architectural engineering that is officially a 5 year plan and its within 6 credits of the BME plan
thats like 2 classes less…hardly a whole year longer
