No idea. Probably fine. Have your safeties bcuz nothing you can do now besides put forth your best app
Georgia Tech is not in the target category for any OOS applicant regardless of stats. Itâs a reach. Very high emphasis is placed on course rigor and excellence in same, along with diversity of profile.
UT Austin is really tough too. Itâs a notch below Georgia Tech and a little easier to get into, but it is also difficult.
You are correct that you need to beef up the number of safeties and matches on your list. Case Western was a good suggestion. WPI could be a match (not a safety). Virginia Tech could be a target. Rutgers could go on the safety list, as could Texas Tech.
Friendâs in state D20 had a 34 ACT and top 10%. Didnât get BME at UT.
Not surprised, because direct admit is only top 6%âŠand BME is very competitive for those students.
Cal Poly already limits OOS students to 15%. They will not use test scores next year, so the 1580 wonât help. A 3.93 might be low for BME which is very competitive. Youâd have to run the CSU GPA weighting calculator and see where you fall. Itâs also not very urban. Itâs pretty isolated. Worth a look though. Good luck!
