Biomedical Engineering (UPitt vs Drexel vs Rutgers vs Njit)

Where should I go for Engineering/pre-med
More Specifically--> Biomedical Engineering on a pre-medical track
My schools are:

Drexel University, University of Pittsburgh, Rutgers University, NJIT University ??

Keep in mind of the research opprtunities, internships, study abroad. Also I plan on minoring.
I am thinking about Neuroscience, Business, Political Science as minors...Any suggestions?

Hi, I’m thinking about doing the same thing as you and I have gotten into Drexel, Penn State, Pitt, Hofstra, University of Dayton. Of these, which one would you suggest?

I know University of Pittsburgh has an amazing biology department (because of their med school and everything), but I don’t know about the others.

NJIT sucks dude, it is one of the worst colleges in the usa, i would go with rutgers.

Medical school are very selective. In general there are twice (or more) as many applicants as spaces. So since that’s you ultimate goal you probably want to look at which of your options is the best feeder college to medical schools.

See: http://www.wsjclassroomedition.com/pdfs/wsj_college2_092503.pdf

So by this measure it would be Rutgers.

Look also at the MCAT scores of graduating seniors at your possible colleges. I expect that you may be able to get that directly by asking the admissions departments.

And finally there’s the US News and World Reports rankings – with Univ. of Pittsburgh at 20 and Rutgers nearly the same at 26.

Pitt or Rutgers

im sorry about not choosing any of those for an option
but u should hav applied to UCI they hav a great biomedical-engineering with pre-medical track

Drexel is a five yr program. Are they all?

Wow given your name it’s really ironic that you hate Rutgers, eh?

Pick between UPitt and Rutgers - the one that is less expensive since you want to save for further studies. In terms of research, both are equal. It depends on you as an individual to grab the opportunities out.
