I think what I want to do is tissue engineering, where I could conduct experiments, work in a lab and do research. Would biomedical engineering be a good major for this? I’m thinking more molecular/biology based, and I feel like the majority of biomed engineers focus on prosthetics, which would still be a very cool career but not what my heart is set on. Would molecular bio be more suitable to major in?
I believe you can get there either through the engineering or biology undergraduate route, but will definitely need an advanced degree in bioengineering (not to be confused with biomedical engineering). Below is a link to one program. It will give you some insight. Good luck.
