Biomedical Sciences

I just recently decided to change my major to Biomedical Sciences and will be attending UCF for my first semester this Summer (B). I must say that I have never considered a career in the medical field, but it is something that has always interested me, so I am very excited to pursue this degree. However, I have not applied to The Burnett Honors College, nor do I think I would be accepted due to my ACT/SAT scores, which is fine, but I know that TBHC offers many research opportunities involving human diseases, etc. and that medical schools really put some weight into that. So with that said, is there anything else (particularly at UCF) that is involved in medical research?
