Hi,

can anyone at UCB speak about their biophysics major? Is it competitive to get into when applying? How difficult is it? How's the balance between biology and physics? any information would be helpful, thank you!

There is no biophysics major.

There is bioengineering and there are upper division biological structure and biomechanics courses in IB (Undergraduate Courses)

There is, however, a biophysics graduate program.

There's a biophysics graduate program but not undergraduate. I guess the reason for that is undergraduates really don't have enough time to be so specialized. However, you can choose to double major in physics and MCB and you will have sufficient knowledge for biophysics purpose. You can also work in a biophysics lab where you will learn the real stuff : )
