Biostatistics Programs- help would be appreciated !

Hello People .. could use some help . I am an international student - did my undergrad in Physics and then came to the US to study applied Math at a university which is in the 50-70 rank range . I got 670 V and 780 Q and a 4.0 on the analytical writing part of the GRE . I've got a GPA of 3.9 in grad school so far , and am about to publish one paper in a field which is reasonably statistical
I am planning to apply for Biostatistics programs for this fall.

Ok.. with that out of the way.. would you guys say I should retake the GRE to improve my writing score ? And , do u think I have a chance at the top schools like Columbia and UCLA or .. should I not waste my money?

From my understanding the analytical writing score is nearly useless, especially for science programs. All graduate programs require you to submit a statement of purpose and/or writing sample in order to view your writing skills. That is a much better assessment of your writing capabilities. Not the GREs. I wouldn't retake them because you'll waste money and time.

Thanks Creolan !
