Biotech?

Hi guys! I need your help!
I want to be a biotechnology major but I have no idea what to put on application majors.
Do I put Biology major or bioinformatics?
Im so confused and don't know the differences.
Some people say biotechnology and biomedical engineeering are almost the same so mind as well do it.
Then on some colleges it says they have a certificate program for biotechnology like university of rochester.

Also, my gpa is high like 3.87 and my sat score is soo low with a 1700.
I dont know what to do.

You have to research the schools you're applying to. At many schools, the same majors have different names, or similar majors have different names.

For me: Cornell, it's Science, Technology, and Society that I'd choose
At Georgetown SFS, it's Science, Technology, and International Affairs
At most schools, it's simply Environmental Studies
At UVa, it's Environmental Thought and Practice

By choosing a specific concentration within each of these programs, I can get educations that are all fairly similar to one another, revolving around global warming, energy, yada yada.

So biotech can really be called something else...somewhere else.
