There is a huge difference! dvdrips seem so blurry now…

anyone having the same problem as me? when i download stuff from ie i can hit 10+ MBps while on rapidshare i seem to be limited to 1 MBps… anyone know why? torrents dont seem to be limited to 1 MBps either.

^i think it all depends on the source of where your downloading your file

laserbase:

if you’d like, i can hook you up with an invite to hd-bits or bit-hdtv; both are excellent private trackers dedicated to hd video releases.

rapidshare is only 100-200 kb per sec unless you pay for premium… i guess i’ll try to download a HD movie to see the difference, i normally just play my bluray on my ps3 and i guess im not looking hard enough to see the difference…

I apologize. I guess I wasn’t very clear. I did have a premium account and had Internet Download Manager (IDM) set up to use the account to download from rapidshare. I also had rapidshare set up so that it would download from random servers. However I found that I would hit a speed cap of 1 MBps. I know that the actual connection can and does support faster speeds as I have hit them when downloading files from other places. I was just curious to see if anyone knew why.

kickserve you’re doing something wrong if you cant see the difference, its pretty clear

either your ps3 isnt hooked up using an hdmi cable or its not hooked up to an hdtv or something of that sort

i’ll take a closer look, but its running on hdmi on my 22 inch monitor… i just never had the same movie to compare it with

arklogic:
Is there a way you could hook me up with an invite to either of these two trackers? Thanks a lot.

Like four people have already asked me about that. If i can get more, I’d be glad to give you one too.

(By the way if anyone wants access to the Demonoid tracker, I have like an unlimited supply of invites so just let me know)

can we torrent foreign stuff? anime, japanese or korean movies or series? are those tracked?

I want eptar32 questions answered too if anybody knows…i just use DDL right now cuz everyone is afraid to use torrent. the fine plus academic probation warnings they threaten us with could hit any of us. i just wanna watch some good quality anime =[

Anime is fine. I’ve been seeding 24/7 for quite a while now.

I’ve downloaded Anime before without any type of warning. Foreign stuff is fine as long as an American company doesn’t own the rights to it.

Pfft, you can always use IRC if you’re too scared of the UCLA internet police to engage in torrenting. It can be just as fast as torrenting though if the bots are too occupied, you won’t get much speed at all.

On a similar note, I always thought torrents were off limits, seems like there are some workarounds.

just use direct downloads like rapidshare/megaupload

im getting like 30 kb/sec for rapidshare and megaupload in university apartments… its killing me! :(

if you can find what you’re looking for and know how to use IRC.

the download limit sucks unless you’re willing to pay for it

Hey all,

so to clarify, if I use torrents, I should only go with private? Is there any way to get registration (besides private invites)?

and do you know of any sites that will list rapidshares & megauploads… I usually get those downloads through other sides that link me.

I’ve been using unprotected torrents for years and haven’t had any trouble with them, but this is really, really good to know. Thanks!

Top level private trackers are difficult to get. You sort of have to start with the low tier private trackers and work your way up. PM me if you want details/invites.
