<p>can you use p2p/bittorrent/limewire at the dorms w/o the powers that be finding out? i know they give the whole "copyright" spiel in the contract, but is it strongly enforced? that is, will they find out if you are just on that site, let alone sharing?</p>

<p>Torrents aren’t kosher. Residents at UCSB use DC++ to share files at fast speeds (google it) locally within UCSB and that is undetectable. HTTP file sources like Megaupload and Rapid share are kosher and you’re safe to use them. I was worried about this problem, but it seems like us smart UCSB students found solutions to the problem.</p>
