When you walk into RBA (Rovetta Business Building A), there is a Bloomberg terminal set up. I was wondering how do I get access to that room? I tried swiping my FSUCard, but it did not work.

Anybody have suggestions?

You likely have to be specifically granted access by the department. That’s how a lot of areas like that work on campus.

Agreed. Check with the Dean’s Office or a faculty member.

Instead of wasting their Dean’s time, they’d probably just be better off by going to see their advisor and asking about the area and possibly gaining access.

From what I’ve seen in many departments, you likely will have to either be an upperclassman (pretty rare, though), or be in specific classes that would likely require access to that specific area outside of class hours. Basically, you’d need a damn good reason to be granted access to an area that’s likely restricted for a reason.

“Dean’s Office” typically means ask the dean’s secretary. When I was an FSU student the dean in my department actually did like to talk to students…and stopping by was a fine way to get to know them and for them to know you. The dean’s secretary was a marvelous person who was much loved and had been around for years. Everyone knew her and she knew most of us. Don’t be afraid to ask the faculty questions and interact with them.

Yes, some are prickly and introverted and busy; but most all love to teach and work with young people.
