Does anyone here actually take advantage of office hours? If so, do the professors try to rush you out, or do they actually get a chance to listen to you. I know there are classes w/ 1000+ students and was just wondering about how you can actually get to speak with prof's. For example, if you need reccomendation letters for grad school, who would you go see if you have never spoken to a teacher?
Thanks.

Yes, people do go, but its usually only a few. I go when 1. I really dont understand something and cant explain it over email or 2. I need a LOR later on and I need to get to know them more.

Professors are usually begging students to come to their office hours because they get bored. Honestly even though a class is large, only a small few ever actually show up. Most tend to email the professor if they have a question.

If you have never spoken to the teacher, then don't go and ask for a LOR.
