Blue blazer for 14 year old

Help! I'm hoping that one of you experienced parents of boys out there can tell me who sells normal inexpensive blue blazers for boys. I need to find one by the end of this weekend. Sears and Kohls no longer carry them at all. Burlington Coat Factory had nothing left in small sizes, probably because of the number of prep schools in the area. The kid is 5'4, 100 lbs. Any ideas out there? For those of you still clothes shopping, we did find some good deals on shirts- American Eagle and Aeropstle polos totally on sale, athletic socks and Dockers at Kohls- just no blazers anywhere. Thanks in advance!

How's that?

It's a great community for finding things just like this.

Lands End has a nice boy's blazer Uniform Boys' Hopsack Blazer from Lands' End

Whatever you can cobble together...go for it. We bought one before school and ordered an official school blazer at orientation and by the end of the year, neither were anywhere to be found.

As I understand it, one of them was killed in action during a Silly String war. The other...? Well, apparently it was disappeared and, if you ask me, it's likely in some secret prison on Diego Garcia being waterboarded.

Quality is NOT something you should pay extra or drive further for.

Lands End-make very good blazers/I'm not sure you'll get it in time though

I purchased my older son's first navy blazer at our local thrift store for $5. It looked like new and served him for his first year. My younger son also some wear from it. After that, I think we bought them from Macys.

Not sure where you are from, but if you have a local Catholic school in the area (one that wears uniforms), you might ask around where they buy their duds, but they are unlikely to be open Sunday or Monday.

This is a similar question. Do you know where to buy shirts, sizes Men's XS or Boys XL? They are very hard to come around besides at Abercrombie and American Eagle. I'm looking for ones that are more formal than casual (which those stores obviously are not). Thanks!

Hand me down from older brother or Oxxford 37 short.Three button of course.

My son interviewed at a boarding school (on the first day of class) where a jacket was part of the required dress code. It was quite apparent which were the new students as their jackets were obviously not normal attire for these boys -- and were all over the lot in terms of color and fit. Visiting the same school later in the year -- the freshmen did not stand out! Apparently they found their navy blazers!

Update: Found one at Macys, $57 with the newspaper coupon! Size 16. Meanwhile, the grandparents, horrified at the idea of the kid going off to prestigious prep without a proper jacket, also found one and are having it shipped! Kid could care less about clothes, and is also wears XS/S at stores like American Eagle but has a lot of hand me down shirts. I bought two boys size 16 dress shirts at Macys, two $7.50 ties at Burlington Coat Factory (not that he knows how to tie them, but he'll learn,) and we're good!

Capecodboarder- boys size 16 at department stores seems to be the same as AE small. Good luck! Also, in the extremely bad mother department, the kid, who wore flip flops all summer, apparently jumped from a 5 1/2 shoe to size 8 without me noticing!

If anyone has a "Rugged Bear" store near them (there are less than 10 scattered throughout New England), this is a place to find dress clothing for boys up through size 18 (maybe even 20). People think of it predominantly as a store for babies and younger children, but they do have a good selection of button down shirts, ties, dress pants, and the all-important navy blazer.

Hold on - I just googled them, and they've certainly grown - they now have 27 stores in New England, New York, and New Jersey. The website is: The Rugged Bear - Quality Clothing & Winter Outerwear for Kids
Their navy blazers are (were) very well-made. They are only 57.00 and are available through size 20. Pants and shirts go to size 16. Good luck!

Lands End is also good for boys' blazers and formal shirts.

If you're not too proud...go to Goodwill and get 2 for $5 each. They will outgrow them quickly.
