Blue Book Math Question

Hey guys I have a question for one of the math problems in the 2nd Blue Book.

It's page 890, question 14. I wrote 17, thinking that PQ, QR (note: not including more then 2 points) etc would count.

The CB explanation says that PR (which includes 3 points) doesn't count, but doesn't mention why PQ etc do not count.

I'm guessing because they are also on another line wih points, but then the question is just worded poorly. Am I missing something?

Thanks :D

It is asking how many different “lines” can be drawn. Not line segments. Therefore, if you tried to include PQ, RP, ST, TU, UV, etc. The “lines” would pass through every point on that line. It’s easiest to draw a picture, because because lines are infinitely continuous you cannot connect only two points on the same segment.

ahhhhhhh I forgot that lines were continuous!

Thank-you very much =]
