[UA approves $150 million bond to pay for projects | TuscaloosaNews.com](http://www.tuscaloosanews.com/article/20101105/NEWS/101109795/1007/news?Title=UA-approves-150-million-bond-to-pay-for-projects)

But how is UA going to get more federal money with the current debt situation, and the Republicans claiming that they want no more earmarks? Shelby cant do it alone. I just hope Witt’s new goal is not dependent on federal earmarks. But I suppose there are other sources of federal funding.

Glad to hear that Russel Hall will be renovated. Hope they convert its design to be more harmonious with the rest of the campus.

I posted about this in the other thread. Here is what I wrote:

This is a bond, so it’s nothing to do with federal spending.

As to the ending of earmarks, I don’t want to get political, but I have my doubts that the Republicans will literally put their money where their mouth is.

Either way, UA is set so long as Shelby is the Senate, which according my sources, he plans on for as long as he is physically able to.
