im applying to hun, peddie, and lawrenceville :)

Is someone else applying to 11th Grade?

i’m applying to andover, exeter, groton, sps, hotchkiss, and deerfield :)

I’m applying for 11th grade at Berkshire, Hotchkiss, and Taft.

I’m applying for 9th grade at Exeter, Hotchkiss, Choate, Deerfield, Milton, and Lawrenceville.

I’m applying for 10th grade at Linden Hall, St. Margaret’s School, and Grier School :D

I am applying to 9th grade for Hotchkiss, Andover, Exeter, Choate, and Loomis

Applying for: 9th grade, Boarding

My files are complete for these schools: Choate Rosemary Hall, The Hotchkiss School, The Taft School

I’m looking at: more GLADCHEMMS schools (it’s a bit late in the game, though, so maybe not…)

So, three schools. Yep. I know, I know, small net equals handful of rejection letters come March 10. But I feel like these fit me the best; you can’t deny what happens in your heart However, I definitely feel some tinges of self-doubt, since I need quite a bit of FA, and am from a ethnic group that is too overly represented.

But good luck to all!

^ Lawrenceville’s application deadline for boarders is a bit later than the other schools. You should take a look at our school.

^ Thanks, MBV! I’ll swing over to Lawrenceville’s website right now Do you go there? You said “our” school.

Yes, I’m a new sophomore! :D

Ooh, nice! How is L’ville so far?

Also, is it “mathy”? I’m an avid mathematician And I can’t really tell from the site (so far)

Awesome. Reading this thread elicits so much nostalgia. I remember being such a frantic applicant last year.

Frantic? Surely not!

I feel so… detached in my hunt for the “perfect” boarding school. It’s like, “I’m going to try my best, don’t fret, and smile-yes, smile-at the very end.”

I’m applying for Saint Paul, Masters School, Concord Academy, Taft, Choate, Northfield Mount Hermon and Loomis Chaffee. I picked schools with good dance programs, and my parents insisted that they be within 3 hours of our home (St. Paul’s is 4). I also wanted schools with ski clubs. (Choate and Masters don’t but the others do.)

^ Wait, if one of your requirements is that the school has a ski club, why are you still applying for Choate and Masters? ;-)

GoldenRatio… I know. When I first started looking, ski club was a top priority. But then as we started visiting and looking, we added a few more schools to the list based more on the dance side of things because I started to think maybe skiing wasn’t quite so important.

Just a side thing… But for the user that stated that applicants should branch out towards ‘Second Tier’ schools instead of just the acronym schools, some kids don’t want to go to other boarding schools. In some cases, going to a BS could be be a degrade from their current school. Just some food for thought.

I am actually one of those students you’re mentioning That’s why I’m only applying to those that fit me like a well-worn glove. However, going to a BS is an "up"grade for me-my school isn’t as prestigious. But because of my district, I worry less. I know that I have a solid backup plan.

I can understand the advice, though. For those who are truly committed to going to BS, or in a bad school district, widening the net is a rational thing to do!

I’ve heard so many good things about Choate’s dance program! And whatever schools you apply to, I wish you the best of luck!

I am applying to Exeter, Lawrenceville, Choate, Loomis, and The Hill. I visited exeter the other day and I have to say, I really didn’t like it. It seems like everyone loves exeter, but does anybody else feel this way?
