One mistake we parents make is to think we can find the perfect school, one that can assure us of our child’s success. We won’t find that school but doing good research can at least assure us our final decision will likely be a less risk in terms of individual fit.

Much of what we look for are intangibles, i.e. schools can talk about creating communities of trust and having high expectations for their students to learn to be good citizens but at the end of the day, it is our children who must walk through that door.

We create the opportunity; schools open the door but children must walk through.

If schools mentioned here were not producing such young men and women, they would not have been in business for several decades. They would not have parents continuing to send not only own children to the schools but also spreading the good news of our experience to our friends. It’s the key to all success: If things are good, the word’s out and for schools that definitely is the case making AO’s job somewhat easier.

The league table is somewhat useful in that it provides a list of the proven schools. If a school is on the list, it indicates that it is worth looking at. Parents without much experience need reference and starting point.
