Boise State University

Hi everyone,

Are there any Boise State students out there that could tell me what the school is like?

I was accepted into the honors college so any info on that would be great. Also I want to study art and international business. Any art or language people out there?

Which are the best dorms, I've heard that Driscoll (honors dorm) is pretty old? Can you reach the river easily? What's the best place to eat? Personal experiences would be very welcome.

I'm so excited to start college next year!

Hey!

I also got into Boise State’s honors college. Although I’m not a current student (I’m still a senior a high school) I’ve noticed that Boise State doesn’t really get a lot of attention on these forums.

Basically, what I’ve been able to learn about the honors college so far is that it’s a pretty tight-knit community that gets to spend a lot of time together. Driscoll goes on a lot of field trips together (they’re going to Scotland and England this year, and went whale watching in previous years). What’s really great about this is that I’ve read a few complaints online stating that Boise feels more like a commuter school, so I don’t think many people in Driscoll would agree. Also, the whole commuter-school complaints could be outdated, as before there was no community college in the area, so Boise had to take on the role. However, there has been one built since then, so it may not even be so much of an issue anymore. Driscoll Hall seems pretty nice from what I’ve seen online (I haven’t been able to visit it in person yet, I live in California).

My department is geology/archaeology, so I don’t know anything about the art or language departments. Sorry :(

Since I’m not a student (yet?) I don’t have any personal stories…but once I visit I’ll get back to you. A friend of a friend does go there though, and she says that she loves it.
