-Columbia University FU
-Case Western

Should I even try to write them a letter explaining what happened the day of the test or not? Should I schedule an alumni interview or is it too late?
Do I still have a chance at my first choice?

Thank you very much, any responses will be greatly appreciated.

btw, English is not my native language.

I think you should probably retake the physics in January and rush the score. Cornell, at least, will accept them, though if the application has been reviewed already it may not help.

Definately interview.

Most people (even on CC) has something on their resume that could be better. The most important part of yours - your class rank and the rigor of your schedule - are very good indeed.

don't write a letter. It will make you look like a grade-grubber, something ivies desperately dislike.

ok then, no letter.

shouldn't i tell them somehow that i'm retaking physics in january, so that they know I'm in NO WAY pleased with that score?(even though CMU will make a decision by the 15th...)

i will schedule an alumni interview ASAP.

well with the bad physics score(which will probably be the only one that they'll see before making a decision) do you think that I stand a chance at my ED school?

help would be appreciated as I'm depressed right now...

I live in PA - what highschool do you go to?

come on someone please answer my post!!!!

well with the bad physics score(which will probably be the only one that they'll see before making a decision) do you think that I stand a chance at my ED school?

no

Actually, you may be ok 'cause your grades and rank are very good. If you are accepted, you will be able to cancel the SAT II and do something fun.

yea, ok i never thought that one bad score might completely change my chances at CMU (ED), but ok i have other colleges on my list.

you guys agree? i'm gonna be rejected at CMU (ED II)??

heh some hope

yea, i will definitely cancel if im accepted, but how should i tell them that i'm retaking it? (or shouldn't i?)

you shouldn't is what i say

ok, my only fear is that they'll think that i don't consider my bad physics score that bad, and I just wanted them to realize that i think it's horrible(and retaking it in jan), but i won't tell them anything then...

thanks guys, anyone else?
