And now the college list:
-Carnegie Mellon University(applied ED II at CIT (Electrical and Comp Engin.)-this is my first choice
-Georgia Tech
-Cornell
-Penn State Univ. Park
-Columbia University FU
-Case Western

ok last question: evaluate my chances plz: does this look right?

-Carnegie Mellon University(applied ED II at CIT (Electrical and Comp Engin.)(they'll make a decision by jan 15 :( they won't see my new physics score)-this is my first choice - match/reach(more of a match i hope?)

-Georgia Tech - match

-Cornell - reach(lower end reach)

-Penn State Univ. Park - safety

-Columbia University FU - big reach

-Case Western - match

feel free to correct me

thanks

btw, English is not my native language

i'm retaking physics in jan, i can't take that score it doesn't represent what i know about physics. (i'm expecting 750+)

i think that if you raise the physics score, columbia isn't a big reach. more like a smaller reach. the only thing that might hurt you is the lower verbal/writing scores, although that may be offset with strong sci/math credentials.

thanks

come on guys evaluate my chances at these school please!

just one reply...

bump

last bump can i get a second reply at least?

well, if nobody wants to help me out with my chances, can you guys at least post your stats if you got into CMU(CIT) ED II or RD???

I don't think Cornell is such a low reach for you with SATII scores like that - a lot of people from my school with similar stats and better SATIIs got deferred from there ED, so don't overestimate your chances.

im not overestimating my chances, im just saying cornell is a lower reach than columbia, that's what i meant.

like i said my #1 choice is CMU(CIT) for Electrical and com engineering and im most interested in my chances there (ED II)

i dont think columbia would be that big of reach

wow low reach or high reach its still a reach !!

ok thx, now how about CMU(CIT)?
admitted ED II? deferred? rejected?

Jason -- You never know what an admissions committee will do, but I'd say Cornell is a low reach, and I don't think he's overestimating. With excellent math/sci stats, and decent soft science stats, plus ECs...keep in mind that Cornell's acceptance rate is >30%.

thx again, but what about CMU, im most interested in that b/c i applied EDII
????

bump

CIT (ECE) chances please

I think you estimated your chances pretty accurately

I got into GATEch with almost the exact same stats as you. high chance that you will get in there:)

ok thanks so you think the ECE dept. at carnegie mellon CIT is almost a match(pretty good chance)?

im just gonna bump till i get at least one answer to this question...sorry

bumpity bump

CIT (ECE) chances please

bump again...
