I think it comes out to like a 2.9 or 2.88, which sucks.

Once your applications are in, it doesn’t matter anymore. In about a year, you won’t even remember your HS GPA. The important thing is to know what it is (regardless of good or bad) so that you don’t end up in a situation where you apply to all safety schools (and miss out on a better school) or all reaches (and possibly end up with no acceptances).

UW GPA - 2.92
Core UW GPA - 2.57
I don’t see any AP or IB, so most school won’t weight your scores at all.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Edit: for the record I counted only English (1 B, 1 D, 1 C), foreign language (1 B, 1 C), social science (2 B, 1 C), math (1 C, 1 B, 1 A), and science (1 A , 2 C) as core courses. 8th grade does not count.

The 8th grade math does, my GC said so because I put a year ahead and had to go to the high school some times for classes and stuff.

Your school might count it, but colleges will not (and that’s better for you)

That’s good because I got a C.

U of Delaware - Should be a match

University of Massachusetts - Amherst - Match

Penn State University - University Park - A decent reach

University of New Hampshire - Match

SUNY Stony Brook - You’re in. Well lets just say match haha

As for chances…

University of Delaware - bottom 3% of admitted GPA’s, about average SAT’s - Reach

University of Massachusetts - Amherst - bottom 5% of admitted GPA’s, average SATs - Reach

University of New Hampshire - they don’t provide GPA’s but you’re in the bottom 3% on class rank, SAT’s are average - Reach

SUNY Stony Brook - Mechanical Engineering - bottom 12% of admitted GPA’s, average SATs - Reach (but best chance of the group)

Ouch… How many do you will think I will get in or is it just up in the air?

University of Delaware - in

University of Massachusetts - match/reach

Penn State University -reach

University of New Hampshire - in/match

SUNY Stony Brook - match

Penn State - Berks College -

It’s not really that bad. You very likely get into one or more schools. It’s just that each school is up in the air.

Then again, everyone else seems to think you’re in at several of the schools (though most of them do not read the thread and just randomly guess).

Thanks, I believe what you said but at first I was really scared because they are all reaches. I’m just hoping my SATs help me becase out of 1600 the are above the 50% for each school and the math is above the 75% mark for all of them.

your SAT was good for the schools you chose and your GPA is close to mine. I wish you a lot of luck!!

one quick tip-> try to work harder for your senior year. Don’t get lazy because colleges cant tell

I do not know too much about the schools you are applying too, but I agree with Pstar8. Your SAT should be good and compensate in some sense for your lower GPA. You should get into one or more of these schools. Good luck!

Chance back (applying to UMass too):

Thanks Chanced Back

I wish i could chance you, but I know almost nothing about the schools that you applied to. sorry
