Book Lists are up!

In case anyone wanted to know…

Log into the Link, click on Current Schedule and Buy Books is on the left hand side. You will be redirected to Barnes and Noble. I’ve been comparing B&N to half.com and half.com is substantially less. You have to be careful, though, because there are different editions with different ISBN numbers. Just a little FYI :-).

I've already bought most of S's books through half.com. Here is a good link to compare prices from different sites:

<a href="http://www.cheapesttextbooks.com/%5B/url%5D">http://www.cheapesttextbooks.com/</a></p>

Don't forget your local used bookstore. I bought 5 Shakespeare plays for less than $7.

Kinshasa- thanks for the info. We are going to orientation on the 25th. We are so excited. We plan to stay away from that big dig.

Momnipotent, are you staying at 10 Buick Street (BU housing)? I'm sure you'll have a ball. You won't even see your kid until the closing session. If you have some down time hit Filene's basement. I don't know if they've changed the name to Macy's yet. I wish I had an excuse to go to Boston, but S doesn't need me anymore to move him in (sniff).

how do we know what the ISBN numbers are for them

The only way to get the ISBN is to go to the bookstore and physically look at the book or email your professor and see if (s)he will tell you.

Usually, B&N's online order form lists the version the professor ordered including any bundled materials and then a "value" version that does not include certain items (whether it be a study guide or CD). You can choose whether or not you want the entire bundle, just make sure that you don't mistakenly select both the bundle and the value option.

SMG kids should keep in mind that, in addition to what is listed on the site by B&N, they also have to purchase a bundle in the SMG copy center. I think it's around a hundred bucks (although I'm sure it's changed since I took the course).

should i just order all my books from the barnes and noble site, or look on other websites to see if i can get them for a cheaper price? and also, will the used books be crappy or not?

i dont understand... i clicked on the buy used copy if available but it still charged me full when i added it to my cart... and if we're supposed to pay online.. i dont see how this will work out for me?

They don't charge your credit card until your order is filled, since the online order form does not know what is in stock and whether or not a used book is available. The total amount shown is the maximum amount your card will be charged when your order is filled. The final amount will be lower depending on whether they have all of the books you ordered and if a used was actually available. As long as you check that you want a used, you will get it if it is available.
