Book Suggestions?

Hey I'm interested in Finance/International Business (especially with China)/Business in general, and I was wondering if anyone had any good books to suggest. Once AP Tests are over I want to start reading but with the plethora of books on the subjects I mentioned, I'm not sure which I should read. I already plan on reading The World is Flat, any other ones you guys could recommend?

Blowback by Chalmers Johnson is all about our political/economic involvement with Asia. Slightly dated (2000), but its a really quick read. He also wrote a couple follow-ups, which I still need to read.

I’m also going to throw out ‘Guns, Germs, and Steel’ and ‘Collapse’ by Jared Diamond, and ‘Freakonomics’ by Steven Levitt. Not as directly related to what you were asking about, and the Diamond books are pretty dense reading, but they are suuuuuper intellectually stimulating.

I read Freakanomics , Guns Germs and Steel , and the World is Flat before they became popular high school books. They are great books.

There is this book I just bought today at Half Price Books clearance section called China, Inc. (2005) by Ted C. Fishman. The cover tells you that it’s a NYT Bestseller and “A Must-read for American business people who operate in, buy from, or compete with China”, according to Chicago Sun-Times.

Hopefully that’ll get you motivated, as it did for me. (I’m interested in the exact same thing you’re interested in, haha)

Freakonomics doesn’t really tell you anything about finance; it’s behavioral economics. But it was a super good read. You should also try Predictably Irrational if you’re interested in that field.
