Bookkeeping summer job as a college student

<p>I am considering taking a bookkeeping job next year during the summer. I was wondering can you take up a job such as this with a 1-2 courses of the intro accounting courses? I took accounting 101 at my high school so I have some prior knowledge. What does it take to become a bookkeeper in essence? Do you need a degree or anything?</p>

<p>Not really. A fundamental knowledge of accounting elements like debits and credits will do.</p>
