Bookmark Chances for Transfer Admission 2020 to Vanderbilt (and U Mich/UNC)

Hi everyone. I’m a Boston University student wondering what my chances are for a transfer, especially to Vanderbilt (top choice), with the following academic profile:

HS GPA: 3.729
ACT: 35, 12/12 on Writing
College GPA: 4.0
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: White
Applying From: Central Tennessee
First Gen

Notes:
My high school GPA is a clear upward trend to my current 4.0, with B’s only occurring freshman and sophomore year and a 4.0 from then on. I took a total of 5 AP’s my senior year but none before that, receiving a 5 in AP Psych, a 4 in Macroeconomics, a 4 in CompSci Principles, and a 4 in AP Eng. Comp.

EC’s: Good so far
Recs: One so far which should be great, still asking about other
Personal Essay: may be able to secure one
Essay: I believe it is very good but can’t go into details.

@zslama Hey sorry to bother you but I saw your post on the transfer waitlist thread and because you also went to Boston University like me I was wondering whether you could help me understand why you didn’t get into Vandy. You had truly impeccable stats, so I have to say I’m really worried about my chances now! Do you have any theories as to why you weren’t accepted? Because I’m totally mystified. I mean, there’s a general pattern in the waitlist decision threads and the transfer acceptance threads and it looks like usually people with your stats get in, so am I missing something here?
