I see for the Freshman, registration and class scheduling is the Friday before class starts. Does this mean we are forced to then quickly buy the books at the NU bookstore (probably more expensive) than having a chance to research online a cheap source and getting the books delivered.

How have you upperclassman done it in the past.

You’ll have pretty much 3-4 days to buy books, if you want to have them for classes. If you don’t really care about having the books for the first week, you can order them off amazon, which is fairly cheap. Also, there is Beck’s bookstore, which sells second hand books, which are fairly cheap, but some of them are in pretty terrible condition from my point of view. I’m pretty OCD about books though.

Also, for non-major classes I would get used books. For major classes, aka books you will probably be re-using as references etc later in life, and in college, I go out of my way to buy new. Just my thing.

Have a good summer. Get pumped for that orientation week!
