Books to improve your college essays!?

Does anyone know what books are good to help you write an extremely well written COLLEGE essay? Any tips?

U.Va. Office of Admission Essays

Thanx ADad that was helpful. Any one know of anymore?

From Sparknotes.

10 Things You Gotta Know
College Application Essays.

Costs 8 dollars. Best book period. The only thing I used. =]

spark notes rocks!

My biggest tip for using that book is first read it through. The whole thing. Then, come up with your topics and do what it says.

The essays in the back are great for tipping you off for what's good and what's not. Though, I personally disliked the Allison Stanford 2006 essay + Soraya Connecticut 2007 essay, the others were really nice to see. Also, it gives you practice prompts ...quite similar to what you might get. So, definitely check it out.

It's cheap, but worthy.

Thanx asdfjkl1! I will definitely be buying that book. Any one else have any suggestions?

I suggest you read some great speeches/stories/essays and then try to find out what makes them so great. This way you are inspired by your own interpretation, not what someone else tells you to interpret.
