Books, travel, incidental fees covered by financial aid???

So I was looking at my fin aid letter...

The total estimated cost for the academic year is ~58,000 (includes tuition, housing, meals, books, PERSONAL, TRAVEL, and INCIDENTAL EXPENSES.

My financial aid is just around 58,000. Does that mean that Penn will give money for those personal/travel/incidental expenses???? :O How?

^I’m not sure, but the personal/travel/incidental expenses will most likely come from your work study earnings, which is a part of the FA package. If you add up those fees, it should be around the same amount as your work study.

I thought about that too, but my revised financial aid has no work study option, because of these outside scholarships that I received.

We kind of had a similar discussion on this on another thread. Idk if this helps, if you want to look through it:

The extra money for books and whatnot get deposited into your account via direct deposit. It’s lovely, really.

Hey thanks. I’ll try to look through that (long) thread.

Hmm…really? My bill for the semester is negative $3700. Maybe this is what gets deposited??? (I hope, haha:)

Yeah, that is!
