I lost a history textbook and now my school wants $73 or else I don't get my report card.
-_- way to give an incentive.

Any of you ever lost a book?

Any of you ever lost a book?

I lost a math textbook in fourth grade. Never lost a book since then.

WOW 73 bucks is pretty cheap… mine would have cost $150+ each if I’d lost them.
Btw though, we’re both lucky - some people have to buy all their textbooks for high school as in college… lame huh.

I lost a book during freshman year. Paid for it, then they lost the receipt, so I had to pay for it AGAIN to graduate my senior year. Make sure you hold onto that receipt! It was an Algebra book, I believe about $84?

I also incurred $20 in library fines my senior year…which is pretty hard to do :P

My hs books cost nearly 1k per year…

Ya $73 is pretty cheap…most of my books, if I lost them, would cost like $200 bucks.

^ Like meeee. I buy my textbooks every year. And not just high school… but junior high too… I’ve been buying my books since 7th grade. =(

I lost the county library’s version of Macbeth. But I found it on the last day of school when I was cleaning out my locker and returned it. XD I went to the library today and had $13.10 in overdue book fees. facepalm

lol, We don’t have overdue library book fines at my school.

Else…

My school doesn’t either. You return them, you get a $0 balance. XD

The local library on the other hand…

Despite never actually losing a book, I managed to rack up over $60 in late fines at the library. I ended up paying $20, but it’s ok. I rather be paying money to a library than anywhere else.

I’ve never lost a book.

My highest late fine is $0.20. The library assistant stamped the wrong date on it…then lied about it. Guess who the librarian believed?

My school has a huge problem with late fines…my principal spent the last three weeks of school reading the overdue list and threatening students with “no graduation and no report cards” if you didn’t return your book or pay your fine. >>

We have no book fines ^^ People in our libraries steal the books all the time and nobody notices, so anyone who actually checks them out is kind of weird seeing as the choice of books is extremely limited anyways (and most of them are gone because people steal the books.)

This is the first year I’ve had to pay for textbooks. Let’s just say it’s close to 3x what the OP had to pay -_-;
