Of the first-year dorms, which provides the most built-in/wall shelves or space for a book shelf? Thanks

you're not going to get much outside reading done while here, if you were to get a lot done it'd be an inefficient use of time. This is assuming you don't want to pile up books only to flaunt an image of being well read; I warn: people will have actually read those books and come to talk to you about it :p.

All dorms provide a fair amount of shelf space, rough estimate: enough space for 30-70 300 page text books.

Somewhat unrelated, but here's some suggested material for your shelf ;)

It's silly, but my library is sort of like my safety blanket. I plan on majoring in English and/or Creative Writing and I imagine a lot of the books I already own will be required texts. Plus, there's always the 3am-I-need-to-read-that-poem situation.

part of the fun of having a dorm room is that you can configure it how you want. You want to add a bookshelf? go right ahead. I think JJ, Furnald, and LLC have more built in shelf space, but you'll have more floor space to put your own shelf up in Carman. It's all about making choices. I'm a bookie too and like to keep my own personal library around in addition to coursebooks.

You sound like the type who'd appreciate a single. I'd ask for JJ as a first choice.
