Books

Hey Everyone, I just have a quick question about books.

Do all professors require that you have the latest edition of the book as noted by the Cornell Store? Im looking at the Math 1910 book and it's so freakin expensive.

When the Cornell store says "rent the book" does it come with a MyMathLab access code or will I have to purchase one separately from renting the book? Also, will I be able to use 1 access code for 2 semesters, like for both 1910 and then 1920 or will I have to buy another access code?

You can rent books from Cornell, right?

People said before you need to buy the latest editions of science/math books because they change numbers around (so you have to waste money)

?

Pretty sure you can’t rent books. You can buy them then resell them back. You can rent books from chegg.com too

I do not buy the latest editions of science/math books. I usually buy the edition before the current one. Content is like 97-99% the same. Some professors make you buy the latest editions cause some actually wrote the book. I also had professors tell me that you didn’t have to buy the latest one.

This is an educated guess: I think that the MyMathLab and any thing that usually come with the access code is NOT included. The code itself is like 40-80 dollars and is usually included into the cost of buying a book with the code. Since you’re renting a book for half the price, the code is probably not included. But since I think it’s a new feature for the Cornell Store to rent out stuff, it doesn’t hurt to go check.

I think you can start renting this year books from the Cornell Store.
