What is the recommended way to break them in? Should I alternate pairs while breaking them in? Can I get them dirty at all?

Have you gotten you're boots already? I just got my paperwork last week.

Yea I got them the other day. I honestly just ordered them off USCAV.com. Belleville 390's two pair. I didnt feel like making the hike to West Point to go get my boots (I live an hour away its the nearest AAFES). If anyone goes the same route I would recommend going half a size down in the Belleville's. I read into it before I bought them so I have the right size. I also own a pair of the ACU Altama boots and I have to say the Belleville's are more comfortable for future reference.

sorry to get a little off the main question, but exactly how many pairs of boots and shoes can we buy? i see the online document for buying boots, and it says two pair boots, and then it also lists low quarters and women's pumps...are the low quarters and the pumps optional? i want to be prepared, but i don't want to have to spend on 4 pairs of shoes instead of 2
thanks, meg

Don't worry so much about breaking in the boots; these new boots aren't hard to break in at all, seeing as they're not all-leathers. What you want to buy ahead of time is the LOW QUARTERS. Those things RUINED my feet.

Don't buy women's pumps. You'll never wear them during Beast, and I haven't worn them yet at all.

Agree completely concerning the low quarters. Our Plebe had a terrible time with them during Beast and continues to go on and off a soft shoe profile even now. Older sibling cadet also had low quarter related problems in Beast. Try to get them and wear them for long periods of time...it's not just a blister issue, it's a stand in them and stand in them and stand in them issue.

if you get boots make sure theyre tan ;)

I ordered the new ACU boots off of rangerjoe.com...they're pretty sweet, but i have yet to start wearing them. Rangerjoe also has a bunch of military gear and apparrel for sale, I bought a lot of PT equiptment and insoles as well as the boots.
