oh I see. So basically Vanderbilt is more prestigious-but this may not directly correlate to IB recruiting…
So then what is the better choice? Which will have more chance to get to NYC IBs, it seems like it is basically the same?

@Dontskipthemoose Although SAT scores, and admissions rates correlate well with prestige; Prestige is more than incoming stats and there are numerous exceptions. I think this is one of those exceptions especially for institutions where research output does not match a particular ranking. For IB ( or anything pertaining to business) go for BC, both schools are peers and the BC name travels far especially up north.
I just wanna say for the record that NYC IB is not the only way to make it. There’s IB in a lot of big cities. Houston, Boston, Atlanta, Toronto, Seattle, SF, etc. NYC may be the “daddy” of IB but it’s the most expensive to live in too lol.
lol i wana do nyc IB tho so that is my definition of making it @philbegas
so you think I should go to BC over Vandy??? Idk I like the prestige and name of Vandy @Dontskipthemoose it also has a higher endowment and is harder to get into
@bobsmith5101 bro you gotta make that decision on your own. I honestly don’t think neither Vandy nor BC will make or break your chances of getting a job on Wall Street. It is equally possible to do so from both schools, and it is up to your capabilities and networking. It would be different if you were comparing a target school to a semi-target, but both are semi-targets.
Just a choose a college that fits you better, since both are equally hard to break into Wall Street, or choose the cheaper option. Ask yourself, which school do you fit better at and which do you see yourself being happier for 2/3 years that you will be there? I also can’t stress enough that prestige isn’t everything. If you end up getting an MBA, which I assume you will strive for, your undergrad won’t even matter that much.
It’s like you are comparing a BMW to a Mercedes Benz. Both are great cars, but they aren’t in the same level as Bentley or Rolls Royce. Choose a car that you personally like better.
I don’t think you are getting it. Neither one of these schools will guarantee you an IB job. Choose the school where you feel you will be happiest and most successful and take it from there.
