@BCEaglesForever mom to a junior. So so sad for all of you seniors. I’m so sorry. When I picked my daughter up I even got all teary pulling in. You guys are amazing and way down the road this will all be ok. Fingers crossed for senior week and graduation.

Has anyone been able to view Financial Aid yet today?

NVM. I see they need another form for both boys so ours will be delayed.

Son waitlisted
SAT 1460
GPA UW 3.75
Strong recs, essays, ECs
Did supplemental essays and videos for Theatre major
Lots of leadership in ECs
Dad was a BC Law grad (2nd tier legacy)
Kind of shocked by the decision, but seeing similar stats, less so. But I do believe all those waitlisted would easily thrive at BC.
This is also his 3rd waitlist at a target school. Not sure what’s going on in this strange new world.

Me too they say I need to submit more documents to receive my financial aid package

So basically if I was assigned four years, I have a chance at the Gabelli?

Please disregard the last post; I realized I applied too late.

In the current world of college admissions, there are less target schools. I would not classify BC as target for anyone.

@alwaysdriving Well, “they” do keep telling the parents and students to make a list of reach, target and safety schools. Based on this stats this fell into the “target” school range. We simply tried to formulate a list based on his stats and ECs, etc. Sorry if my terminology was offensive.

My son was accepted to BC’s Business School. white male; Catholic HS in CT; third in class; SAT 1510, GPA 4.5/5.0, Honors/AP track; lots of church/community involvement and school club/politics. Seems like all his friends with mid 1400 SAT scores got defered! Crazy!

Don’t worry I feel that 100%. I got accepted to MCAS for biochem, ACT 34, UW gpa 3.86, 6 APs and 8 honors, (white, male) but actually got deferred from Villanova early action and waitlisted Villanova regular decision. That was supposed to be a target school, and BC seemed to be one for your son too, but it’s just crazy competitive this year. There really aren’t any guarantees anymore, especially with early decision making it extremely difficult to get accepted regular decision. I can assure you with his stats I’m 100% confident that any other year before this year, since BC had early action, he would’ve gotten in on the first go-around.

We were told by our school college counselor that a target school is defined as one where the applicant’s SAT/ACT and GPA scores are at or above the college 75 percentile range eg. if the college has a profile SAT of 1350 to 1500 and an applicant has a 1,500 or higher SAT score, such a school is considered a “Target”. Obviously, the wild card is ECs, essays, etc.

(for future viewers  )
