Great info. Thank you!
Good info about the FB parent pages. I didnāt know there were public and private pages. Thanks!
There is an ED students get together in late February at a BC club in Boston (not on campus). I think there is an invite in the studentās portal?
I learned that whenever you comment on public pages, your Facebook friends might see your comment. Facebook is sneaky, have to guard your privacy. I have seen lots of comments that I know my Facebook friends did not intend everyone to see.
Oh, I was wondering why that was 7:00 at night haha, my daughter didnāt give me the details of that and I thought that would be so strange for the college to do
My son was admitted to CSOM ( my daughter is a freshman in A&S) .
Anyone going to the reception? We RSVPād
Yes we just sent an RSVP
Can accepted students post their stats such as gpa act/sat scores ect
Usually thatās what people typically doā¦ helps people gauge why they were rejected or deferredā¦. Also helps future applicants
Thank you!!
1470 SAT, 11 APās, ECās related to major, very high GPA, might be top 3 of her class.
Thx and congrats
From the admin of the Boston college parents group on Facebook. This is the private group for all years.
Daughter accepted to A&S. 1500 SAT, 4.3 GPA, Varsity Sport, IB/AP classes, community service.
Unfortunately, was deferred to regular decision applicant pool. Any idea what percentage of students get deferred (instead of not accepted)?
Congratulations to all that were accepted.
Son deferred from CSOM. Coming from large public high school 4,400 students. ACT 32 (Superscore 34), GPA uw 4.0, w 4.56; 5 AP classes all 4s. Taking 3 more AP classes this year. Varsity sport; 3 clubs (non leadership roles). Assume Regular Decision will be even harder for him to be accepted.
I was wondering myself. I found Boston College information on an educational consulting website. Itās from 2 years ago, so the chances will probably be harder for this yearās deferred applicants. Class of 2025 ED1: 41% of 1,959 applicants admitted. 30% of ED1 applicants were deferred. Usually 15% of the deferred students are admitted in the regular decision round.
So sorry about the deferralā¦but itās not a no (not that that really helps you right now, iām sure). We personally know of two people that got accepted to BC after being deferred - but one of them came really late - like in July! He was planning on attending BU but when he got the BC acceptance, he changed course.
Did you send SAT - my daughter has a similar score we were not going to send because the admissions officer basically said if you donāt have a 1510 donāt send. Iām not sure how to proceed. Thanks
i was deferred from bc last year but i got in regular decision and now attend. it shouldnt necessarily be harder but your application must improve so that you can get accepted.
BC admissions officer said not to submit < 1510?
