Boston College or Colby College

Wisteria,

You cannot think that this poll has any merit when number 11 - California State, Sacramento has a SAT score of 975 and number 90 - Boston College has one of 1375. Give me a break! That is one seriously flawed poll!!

The Bloomberg poll is the only poll with any credibility. Why? Very simple. It is the only ranking where 40% of the input is from hiring managers. This means the poll reflects what’s going on in the job market at this moment. Other polls and rankings are outdated and structurally flawed. The Bloomberg Survey also provides separate rankings for each input.

Since Bloomberg is so ingrained in business, the ranking is the most widely seen.

I also don’t like the Fobes ranking at all and it does not reflect how the schools are viewed in the marketplace. Affordability (not including aid) and future salaries are the big part of the equation in this ranking so publics are pretty much by definition ranked higher than private colleges (putting BC at an automatic disadvantage). And the Bloomberg ranking is not discussed or ingrained in business from my 30+ years experience in business.

Suffice it to say that the OP has 2 excellent choices and should pick the school where he/she can get the college experience he/she wants to include area of study, fit, social outlets, location etc.

Re #19, Forbes does not appear to be associated with the subsequent nerdwallet link (?).

OP, Colby seems like a good option for a lot of fields and is a solid NESCAC school. Personally, they’d be my pick. The excellent BC works really well for lots of students, however, and definitely merits your serious consideration should it seem more suitable with respect to your interests. Good luck and let us know.

What school did you pick?

you can find a ranking to support whatever pov you wish to espouse!

Good grief, these two are so different that the biz school rankings are irrelevant.

Want access to city stuff, business internships during semester,.div 1sports, Jesuit values, business degree: pick BC.

Want to see same people every day, econ degree, access to outdoorsy stuff , div 3 sports: pick Colby.
