BC or Wellesley

I was accepted to Carroll and would be majoring in Business Economics… I know that Wellesley’s econ program is good. which school is better in econ??

Ooh, tough choice. Wellesley is absolute amazing school. I would have applied if I have...the sex to do so.

I honestly think that if we are talking about undergraduate education, I would put Wellesley top of the pile--over the majority of the ivy and its ilks. But in term of a business education, I would give BC the edge. You might want to ask yourself what is important to you: small liberal arts or larger but more options for business.

One very important point is that BC has a very good business school, Wellesley doesn't. BC has a bigger (and loyal) alumni base situated in Boston itself, so finding internship during school year or summer won't be a problem. In term of the econ department, BC is rock solid: "The rankings, which rated BC's economics faculty as No. 24 among American universities, appeared in the December issue of the Journal of the European Economic Association...In addition to the department's highest-ever overall rating, several University faculty members were ranked among the top economists in the world in terms of research published in prestigious professional journals. Prof. Arthur Lewbel was listed in the survey's No. 30 position, Prof. Uzi Segal was No. 98 and Prof. Peter Ireland was No. 109. "

Its professors are ranked as among the best. Wellesley may be comparable or even better, but I don't know since I don't attend the school.
