Mine came out today
Accepted.
What source of information says 75/18xx got accepted?
I think it was in the rejection letter.
In 2019, they accepted 488 out of 1447, so does anyone know if the 75/1850 statistic is true? It just seems kind of odd to me.
I think it could be true (incredibly disappointing and frustrating in my book) because quite a few schools seem to be dealing with over enrollment, accommodation of gap year students and no one leaving campus for study abroad (guess that could change but the EU isnāt looking great, Australia is buttoned up tight and even the UK doesnāt seem excited about Americans vaccinated or not). Doesnāt leave a lot of room for transfers.
Makes sense. Iām pretty sure transfer students are somewhat marginalized.
waitlisted to cost what are the chances of getting off
CSOM* I mean
It was not a 4% acceptance rate.
In the transfer student seminar yesterday evening, the head of admissions said it was a 13% acceptance rate; roughly 1850 applicants and about 235 offers of admission. Still, a much lower acceptance than past years (which has been about 33% from what Iāve seen), and a great achievement to get in.
What transfer seminar? Iām confused because posters who received a rejection said in their letter they accepted 75 people out of 1,850 applicants.
The seminar was titled āAdmitted Transfer Student Welcomeā and was held at 7:30PM EST. It was hosted by Kelly Bellavance, who I believe is the head of the Boston College transfer student application process. The seminar was very brief and just went over all the basics of being a Boston College student, but she prefaced her presentation by giving us those stats.
Maybe they misread their rejection, or their rejection letter stated the acceptances of the specific school they applied to. For example, maybe the Carroll School of Management only accepted 75 people. I believe 13% is the official overall number for the 2021 Fall BC Transfer Application pool.
Thanks for the info! And congratulations on your acceptance!
No problem, thank you! Just wanted to correct the facts for posterityās sake.
We didnāt misread the letter and it stated 75 out of 1850 so it wasnāt by program. However, they might have failed to adjust the numbers to soften the blow.
If the letter said 75, and Mrs. Bellavance said 235 on Thursday night, then Iām at a loss. That could make sense though that they are trying to soften the blow. Im not trying to disparage anyones comments, I was only guessing as to why they might have gotten different information. At the end of the day, I think we can all agree that it was an extremely weird/unpredictable year to be a transfer applicant.
they accept more students than they have spots available. their yield rate is not 100%ā¦ 235 students accepted makes sense for their yield which is normally 30-35% so that will probably equal to about 70 students enrolling
if you look at their past common data sets, these numbers make sense
Has anyone on the waitlist heard anything ??
nope
