I have been to both accepted student days and I am aware that they are very different, co-ops at NE and a more traditional 4 year education at BC. City campus vs a more rural feel… I like them both, just wanted to get some opinions, thanks!
Opinions on what part exactly? Since you know they’re very different, that really comes down to what you prefer. Are you asking just professionally? Academically?
If the only consideration were finance, then I’d recommend you look first to BC for one of the country’s stronger programs. If the fit at BC doesn’t appear right for whatever reason, look to NE, which may appeal to you with a different set of attributes.
Academically and best for job prospects after college
Is one more affordable than the other? Specifically do you have to take on debt for either of these?
No debt so either ok
Are you a direct admit to the business schools at both?
They are both strong schools. Go with the one that made you feel the most comfortable and at home. You will spending a lot of time there and you want to be comfortable.
Yes
Yes, admitted to business schools at both
Have you actually visited both?
BC’s Carroll school of mgmt is a stronger name than D’amore-Mckim but the co-op can also be a great opportunity if you’re the type to take initiative and work hard.
Go to the school with the best fit bc they are both great schools but BC has a little bit of a stronger name but neu makes up for it with there co op and experience right away
If money no object, BC all day, every day. Not even close
I wouldn’t say BC all day. My kid really did not like the vibe at BC and he really liked NEU. Living in the city with access to so many co-ops and activities sealed the deal for him. He thought NEU was more diverse and their push into entreprenuism is exciting. Plenty of opportunity to work alongside the STEM students and professors.
BC is a good school though, just make sure you are the right kind of kid.
For Finance, BC.
