Boston U vs Northwestern U vs USC Annenberg School

My daughter was accepted to the Communication Schools at BU, Northwestern and USC. All great places to study communications. Is there a big difference between the three schools with respect to Academics?? Internships?? Job placement?? Do employers in the industry value a Northwestern Com or USC Com degree more than a BU Com degree

We have visited all three schools and she can see herself fitting in at all three places but would prefer LA or Boston. We received no merit or aid from Northwestern or USC but she received a Presidential Scholarship at Boston U so she would be attending for close to nothing. I can afford to pay full price at all three schools but I’m just not sure a communications degree is worth paying $300k for.

Would love to get the groups thoughts on this.

My apologies…she received a Trustee Scholarship from BU which covers tuition and all required student fees.

Take the scholarship.

You’re paying for your daughter’s college experience, not merely a degree. I’m not here to argue financials, but if tuition isn’t a huge issue for you, I make the case for SC. Picture this, your daughter struggling to find a job after BU, or your daughter getting set up by the Trojan family to make $$$ right after college after attending SC. She’ll 100% be able to find a well paying job in LA/California/anywhere with SC connections. Also, she might be able to live in McCarthy with the scholarship!!! That’s an incredible incredible experience where she’ll be with other amazingly talented students in the new VILLAGE.

here is what I have to say about USC:

(I posted this on someone else’s thread)

Attending USC has been the greatest decision of my life, and of every single one of my SC friend’s lives. The atmosphere on campus is like no other; the campus is like no other; the balance of academics/athletics/and a vibrant social scene is like no other. It is the Disneyland of colleges. It’s ashame you can’t visit right now due to coronavirus but oh my god USC is such the move. Everyone is just so happy to be there. I have friends at UCLA and Hopkins literally hating their lives and wishing to be at SC. I feel bad and even have to tone it down SC is THAT good. The connections you make at SC…the Trojan family is unparalleled. IN LA?! College with the most beautiful amazing weather in the world…COME ON. I took SURFING at SC. You’re one of us. We are family. Make the right move. Fight on baby

Northwestern or USC Annenberg (especially Annenberg, I’d say) are worth a premium over BU, in terms of professional contacts especially.
But it all depends on whether that premium is affordable for you and whether your current position is stable as the economic crisis makes things more uncertain than they were a year ago.
