Boston University Chance? High GPA/Low ACT.

I'm awaiting my ACT score, but I don't think it's going to be well... ~26? Yeah it was bad :( I ran out of time for a lot of the sections... Can I get accepted to Boston University with a low ACT score?

When I graduate, I'd have around ~14 IB Classes, hopefully a 4.0UW GPA, Taken chemistry and physics at a university, and a solid amount of extracurriculars, I am also first generation to go to college too if that helps.

I really want to go to BU, do you guys think I have a chance? Thanks :)

Uhm, I think you have a chance. I got accepted ED to Boston University, which I am really stoked about. You have a realistic chance and just hope that your rec letter and essay is really good. I think if your rec letter and essay is really good then you have a strong chance.

I got accepted too! Early decision class of 2018. Actually my act score was horrible, I only took it once but at least my sat scores were higher :slight_smile: I have been reading so many posts from others that got accepted … I think my essay, letters of recommendation and extra curricular activities increased my chances of getting in significantly. Other than that I am just an average student academically I think. So invest a lot of time on your essay and make sure letters of recommendation come from teachers that really know you well not necessarily the classes you did extremely well on

I believe you’ll definitely get in. You sound like a strong student if you have taken the IB program, have that GPA and managed hard science classes in university already. Less than ideal ACT score will probably not bee seen as a big deal in your case.

Like the post before me I think you’ll get in. Your GPA looks good and if your EC’s are solid then it should be fine. Just make sure your commonapp essay and BU supplement is well written and you’re set!

@jungwoo810 do u think i got a chance? i have 3.8W and 27 act…gonna redo in april for 29-30
