Boston University Chances?

Im currently attending a public school, going into my senior year. I was wondering what my chances were for getting into Boston University, I know its a tough school to get in to but I am considering applying.

My GPA isnt incredibly high, unweighted its an 89, but my core class average is a 94.5. I got a 2000 on the SATS, 660 on math, 660 on reading, and 680 on writing. I got a 650 on the US History subject test, a 680 on the Math I, and a 640 on the Math II. I will have taken a total of 5 AP classes by the end of next year, and all my other classes have been honor with the exception of cp french 3, and cp creative writing.

I am an elected co-chair of a group called The Youth Involvement Subcommittee, which works with the town's city council and kids council on issues pertaining to youth. I also am head of fundraising for Marine Conservation Club, an active member of Creative Writing Club, a member of NHS, a ninth grade mentor, and received an "Unsung Hero" award freshman year. I also have a lot of community service hours, and I know I can get good recommendation letters from a few teachers.

Let me know what you think, thanks!

Youre in. Just write some good essays that show BU that it’s not your safety. Same if you’re applying to Northeastern. You have stats good enough for BC too, if you’re looking into the Boston area. I’d even say you have a good shot at Tufts, or Brandeis.

thanks!! BU has some business programs im really interested in, I’m considering applying early decision so that might help my chances as well.

I disagree with ram, I think that it would be more of a high match. Your grades and SAT’s don’t make you stand out enough and your EC’s are great but won’t make up for GPA and SAT. Retake the SAT if you are serious about the school and work as hard as you can to bring up your GPA and you’ll be in good shape. I think your chances at BC and Tufts are very slim, but your chances at Brandeis or Northeastern are slightly better.
