*Boston University Class Of 2016: Regular Decision Thread*

Accepted with Presidential Scholarship - very pleased, as $$ is a big factor for me. BU, despite being a target for me, is one of my top schools. For those wondering (as I don’t see a results thread) my ACT was a 33 and weighted GPA was about a 4.6. I did apply for the honors college but don’t see a mention of it in the letter - so I’m assuming I didn’t get in. No sweat, though. Very excited, BU rocks!

I got accepted!!!

ACT: 27, 28 superscored
SAT: Warning: EMBARRASSINGLY LOW, but I guess I don’t care now, because I got accepted. 1690…yuck
GPA: About a 3.5 now. My school doesn’t report weighted GPAs

Also accepted to: University of Minnesota, University of Iowa, a few small colleges. Postponed by: University of Wisconsin
Rejected by: Ohio State, UNC

SUCH A GOOD DAY :)

Accepted to CAS with Deans Scholarship

SAT I: 2170 (700 CR, 720 M, 750 W)
SAT II: 740 Math lvl 2, 770 Biology M
GPA: around 3.6 something UW and 4.3-4.4 W
IB: Predicted 43/45 (7’s in HL Bio, HL Econ, SL Math, SL English and 6’s in HL Chem, SL Greek)
EC’s: Guitar, Soccer, Saxophone, Treasurer of High School, Debate team, and member of school’s Honor Council
Volunteer work: 80 hours at Institute for the Conservation of Marine and Terrestrial Life, 200+ Hours in Neurosurgery Wing of a Hospital, Volunteer for the Make a Wish Foundation, Volunteer to help rebuild a Monastery from the late 1700’s
Job/work experience: Office Assistant at a General Electric International Office
Pretty Awesome essays if I may say so myself.

Overall pretty satisfied, though I think they’re being a little stingy with the FA.

Also accepted to: Drexel (scholarship), Northeastern, and Wesleyan. No rejections or waitlists so far.
Waiting on Brown (top choice), Tufts, NYU and Boston College

Waiting on my first choices, however if not accepted may possibly attend BU, especially since I received some merit money.

accepted, but how do you know if you are offer money?

palebluedot112 - on the side of the page where u clicked to check the decision it has a tab that says merit money if you received any. There’s also another one for Financial Aid

I got accepted with no aid! I probably won’t be attending but I’m happy to say I got in :)

azavras- hmmm nothing there… i guess my grades arent good enough…

ACCEPTED!
SO SO SO SOOOO happy! :D

Rejected…Sargent College.

SAT: 600 math
650 reading
770 writing
2020 total

ACT: 28
GPA: 3.82 (Not a lot of Honors courses)
Rank: top 15% (class of 537)
Lots of extra curriculars

I’m totally bummed as lower scores than these seem to get in. I guess it depends on what College within BU you apply to.

Best of luck to all who were accepted!

What’s the hardest school to get into? Is SMG hard?

Congrat’s! Would you mind posting some more of your stats. My son applied for both as well with similar stats but did not get either, so i am just curious.
Thanks!

My son was accepted to the Kilachand honors program - there is a tab on the right under “decision” and “merit.” He applied to the college of engineering - 2300+SAT/2400 SAT subject tests/valedictorian, plus lots of college level and independent math/science stuff. He received the $20K Presidential Scholarship - did not apply for Trustee :(

Congratulations to everyone!
