just wanted to see if anyone has already posted a similar thread. I saw ED1 and ED2, would anyone know when the RD results usually come out?
Mid-March.
@TomSrOfBoston Thank you.
In March 2015 (the same calendar pattern as March 2020), they came out on March 21st. Therefore, thats when they will most likely be released this year. And it seems they always come out on the Saturday between March 17th and 23rd.
Good to know. Does anybody know if there are a lot of deferrals from ED/EA to RD this year, and how this influences final acceptance rate. Does the school expect to receive similar number of applications like last year?
I got into Northeastern with a 16k merit scholarship. I also applied to BU ED. I might not be attending NU because of the price, but if I were to also get into BU, could I get more merit money from them
@"k_atherine.h BU does not match merit offers from other schools.
Not a lot of traffic, I guess the deadline is still far. Would anybody recommend anything else at this point - visit, contact school - anything that can potentially work?
bookmarked!
Good luck everyone!! I applied for the Trustees scholarship, does anyone know if those decisions will come out earlier?
I applied Trustee as well - but I think that those decisions come with our regular decisions. Unfortunate - I much prefer USC’s system where they give scholarship decisions earlier.
I just got an email asking for a signed copy of a tax return for financial aid. Since BU is need blind, could this be good news?
“ Greetings from Boston University! Although a decision on your application for admission has not yet been reached, BU Financial Assistance is currently reviewing your application for financial aid. We need additional information or documents before we can proceed with our review…”
@rprewett Now that BU meets 100% need they are NOT need blind. They are need aware.
Does this mean anything then?
@TomSrOfBoston Where did you see that?
@nobody555 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Need-blind_admission
Only the best endowed universities can afford to meet full need and be need blind. BU is not one of them.
I just called and was told they are still need blind.
Time to revive this thread…decisions in a month!
We are very excited to begin 2020 with 60,961 applications for admission to the BU Class of 2024.
While we are pleased that such a large number of students are attracted to BU, we are particularly proud that the academic quality of our applicants continues to strengthen. I would like to share some additional information about our applicant pool.
BU received 5,051 applications for admission through ED and ED2. We expect to enroll approximately 50% of our first-year class through these binding programs.
Applications from underrepresented minority students reached 11,873 which included a 2.6% increase in applications from African American students. Enrollment of first-generation, low-income, and URM students continues to be a priority for BU.
We received 12,764 applications from international students representing 168 countries.
BU’s enrollment target for the Class of 2024 is 3,100 students.
And, as a reminder, I am incredibly proud that BU will be meeting the full-need for all domestic, first-year students admitted to the BU Class of 2024.
Admission decisions will be released on Saturday, March 21. Students will receive emails when their decisions are available.
HaroldBenny: Thanks for providing this info. Where did you find this?
@HaroldBenny I am also wondering. Where did you find this detailed information on the current 2024 BU admission statistics and the notification date (March 21)?
