Boston University is still going to hire this racist Prof Saida Grundy?

Black sociology professor Saida Grundy, who completed her doctorate at the University of Michigan last year, had declared on her now-private Twitter account that “white masculinity is THE problem for America’s colleges.”

In other recent tweets, she said, “Deal with your white (expletive), white people. slavery is a (asterisk)YALL(asterisk) thing,” and “Every MLK week I commit myself to not spending a dime in white-owned businesses. And every year I find it nearly impossible.”

I hope donors stop all donations if they continue with this hire

this lady apparently is even more vile, disturbed and unhinged than was previously known

Grundy’s hiring calls into serious question the competence either of a) the BU hiring committee that supposedly vetted her and then offered her a position, or of b) the dominant ethos of elite higher education in the contemporary US, an ethos which seems to regard her vindictive, ill-written drivel as an exemplary instance of “speaking truth to power.” If it’s the first option, then BU is in trouble; if it’s the second option, then we’re all in trouble . . . big time.

even more about her

Too bad she seems smart and could be an asset to any University I bet, but she seems to come unhinged quite easily, not appropriate for intellectual discussions in an open classroom that would encourage educated discourse.

I would discount the charges during her youth (over 10 years ago) her motives are understandable and forgivable ( and the courts decided to drop the greater charges which means she is innocent, sorry for all the haters)

Any professor worth their weight would be able to make her point without shouting or discounting another’s beliefs or understanding about circumstances that are not hers.

I true intelligent educator would have been able to bring the person around to her point ( or at least consider it) by at least considering the other’s POV.

How can she be effecitve if she discounts challenging points of view with out actually challenging them.

Hopefully before the U gives her tenure they see a different side of her.
