Boston University minor in music? (minor in violin performance)

Hi,
I recently applied to Boston University college of Arts and Science. I did undecided but will choose between neuroscience or biology. However, I have been playing violin for around 12 years and although I want to pursue a career in medicine, I don’t want to give up music. I was thinking of doing a minor in violin performance and wanted to know if there was someone I could talk to who is doing that right now.

I know you have to pass an audition after a semester of private lessons in order to minor in violin but how hard is this audition? Does it compare to the auditions someone who take to major in music? I played in NEC orchestras for about 5 years and have done many chamber programs as well. Also, are the jury examinations hard to pass? Are the theory and aural classes that are required really difficult? How stressful is it to major in stem but also have to practice for violin minor?

If I don’t end up minoring, I might join the all campus orchestra but what is the level of difficulty? Does it compare to youth orchestras in Boston such as BPYO, BYSO, YPO?

Thank You!
