Also an LC freshman here…
For sure! Not sure if I will be committing just based off aid. I’ll let you know!
Im just so upset and anxious… BU is my ticket out of here and waiting for this decisions is like torture. especially seeing everyone else getting accepted lol
For real. I absolutely need to get out of my current school
I got in this morning! Questrom!! My GPA last semester was 3.6.
Don’t worry! BU is known for being kind to transfer students, and their admissions rate is around 30-40% each year (much higher than their 11% RD rate last year). These are just the first 2-3 rounds of decisions, there’s going to be more throughout May as well!
I would suggest keeping constant contact with their admissions office, since it (possibly) could demonstrate your interest. Remember that you already applied, there’s nothing to do besides wait! You got this, rooting for all of you!!
Hi! Congrats for getting in! I obviously applied before the deadline and have had my documents submitted. Yet the issue for me is that they still have not been added to my application materials last I checked with an admissions director just now. I did make it to the dean’s list and was admitted to my school’s uni scholars program as an incoming freshman.
Does anyone know if there will be any more releases this week?
There should be. I was looking around reddit last week and saw there were decisions 3/5 days even though no one in this thread heard back aside from that one day
If you dont mind answering, were you in consistent contact w their admissions office?
Happy to answer! I’ve been in contact with their office via email since February, and I’ve also done a few virtual campus tours/info sessions for transfers prior to that. But I believe that a part of my acceptance was probably the fact that I applied/got rejected last year, since BU values interest and the chances of getting in the 2nd try are much higher!
Thanks! Your background is great, but sometimes the portal is slow. I checked my portal today and it still shows “missing” transfer reports but I called and confirmed they got it lol
Would you say sophomores have a better chance? Or would you be able to help out at all with that? I’m a current sophomore applying for the first time, but have expressed lots of interest + have a rec from an alumni
The portal still says they do not have proof of graduation but that should just be covered by my HS transcript which has my graduation date on it right?
i got a decision around 10:30am this morning… i opened it a bit later as i was still asleep when it got sent out. my letter was dated april 21st, so i think their releases are completely random.
I spoke with someone today on the phone and they said it’s random it’s rolling so they just review decisions whenever
My stats for CAS admission for reference:
3.1 GPA W high school GPA, 2.9 UW
3.94 GPA 1st semester Freshman year, and did not submit a midterm report.
Had 42 reported complete credits to BU on my transcript, 25 through dual enrollment (an official transcript from my dual enrollment university was sent with a 3.75 GPA), and an additional 18 in progress.
Dean’s List
I had submitted my essay explaining why I decided to transfer out of my current university, as well as an essay describing my personality and drive.
I hope this helps!
Congrats :)) what is your major?
Thank you for responding! What was your GPA? Mine was a 3.55 but a transfer from my school to BU told me that my school’s CS program is more competitive than that of BU’s which can be in my favor.
Does anyone know if there’s an insta account or other socials for transfers next year?
