Prestige wise - Boston University or Penn State University Park? Which is more prestigious to you?

The rankings do not show BU's B-school to be as good as it is - they have an innovative curriculum unlike some other schools. Also opportunities in Boston are fantastic. Very different student bodies though...

So are you saying Boston > Penn State?

i say penn state > BU

however i do know that virtually every kid applying to top colleges uses BU as a safety school

Penn state over BU???? really??? I never heard of that....

They are about the same. Both are used as Ivy safeties.

sis chose psu over BU, no regrets,
Personally, if i had the $ and oppurtunity id choose boston, depends what kind of person you are.
If you like football and such PSU is the place to be, you wont regret either choice. Academic wise theyre both pretty good.

i guess on a national level, BU is considered "more prestigious" by the general public..........yet there really quite comparable (admissions is virtually identical, though BU will have a higher acceptance rate and SAT average because its used as a safety by everyone)

even the US news rank is comparable (i know i know rankings are stupid im just throwing this out there)

BU sounds more prestigious because it is confused with BC.

Basically they are the same. The OP is a bit odd at its core. BU is one of the most downtown campuses in the US, and PSU is in one of the most remote locations, and the major difference between the two is prestige?
