asdfstudent, although BU is a great school for some majors (BrownBear, I hope you learn some humility and stop bashing a school just because you go to a “better” one), like the 6 year BA/MD program, CGS is not worth it for 50K a year (the rumors about it being an overly glorified community college is somewhat true). I would save my money, go to WashU, get kick-butt grades, then transfer to a better school or use that money for grad school. Hope that helps.

If you go to Washington you won’t need to transfer to a better school. At least for most majors UW is excellent.

That’s not remotely true; it’s actually a pretty challenging program. That being said, please, for your sake, OP, pick UDub.

I vote Washington, there’s better ways to flush $50,000 down the toilet

U Washington. Seattle is a delicious city!

wow, money is not an issue. you must be well off living in some brick home or something.

count me in the vote for uw!

of course, money is not an issue for me (family helped set the thirteen colonies)

Thanks for two pointless posts, hpw1992.

actually uwashington is a horrible school, no street credibility

plus boston university has a large jewish population! i do not know about you but that draws me

definitely boston university!!! you will love it

LOL BU is terrible! UW all the way

hpw1992 you’re self-serving comments were unappeciated and unnecessary. The fact that your family helped settle the 13 colonies is really insignifcant. I’m curious who specifically are you related to?

Let’s focus on the question at hand…
BU-cgs or UW?

hpw1992 is probably a ■■■■■…just ignore him.

UW all the way. It’s better overall as a university, and Seattle really is an awesome city. disclaimer: bias because I might be going to UW…though I do have a friend going to BU’s accelerated med program.

I agree with Sumzup, hpw1992 must be part of BU’s prestgious CGS community college.

Prestigious, not prestgious. BrownBear1 you need to lay off BU, find something else to bash.

many apologies

someone got on my account through my computer (login is saved) and wrote all of those

asdfstudent i would go with university of washington. its a great school in a great city

hope that helps

Ahhh I had this exact same problem and was starting to feel completely torn up
by my inability to decide.
Eventually I went for UW(mostly for money reasons + desperate desire to live in that city and get out of the desert)

But recently I was starting to feel kind of torn up about what I had decided (Boston is my original home) to the point where I was already thinking of transfering before even attending UW.
That was until my A&O =)

was wondering what you decided, and how you feel about it?

I don’t think BU has good fin aid

BU has a reputation for attracting wealthy and untalented students who just want to spend four years in Boston and hit all the parties. Throw in the fact that you have to start at General Studies and it becomes a truly poor option.

UW is much more respected as an academic institution. Seattle is not as exciting as Boston, but it’s just an extremely nice place in terms of safety/transportation/outdoor opportunities. It’s hard to resist the siren call of Boston, but if I were you I would attend UW.

thank you everyone for your advice! I have decided to attend UW next year and it is largely due to what I gathered from this thread! Your advice is greatly appreciated!
