Both recs from senior year teachers?

I'm a rising senior, and I will probably get both of my teacher recommendations from senior year teachers because I am shy and never really got to know any of my teachers. I plan to change this senior year so I can have teachers that actually know me write them.

I am wondering if this will be a bad idea since my teachers will only have 3 months or less to get to know me before they write the recs. Is it a bad idea to have two senior year teachers write recommendations, or is it better to have on from junior year as well? Does it even matter?

You really need to consider past teachers, because at the time they are writing your recommendations they will not have much to base their recommendation and it will show

If you can make a really good impression on your new senior year teachers, there is no reason to go back to previous teachers who may not write good recommendations. See if you can make a better impression on some of your teachers from last year, if they run any of the ECs you are involved in. Otherwise, just choose the teachers with whom you had the friendliest relationship and hope for the best.

It seems like a risky move to me. Your senior year teachers will have known you for a few months at best when it comes time to write recs. In my case, I had my recs written by one teacher whom I'd had for two and a half years, and another for one and a half years. They both ran extracurriculars that I was involved in.

If you want you can try to get to know these senior year teachers reasonably well before rec time, but you'll want to be careful not to make it seem like you're sucking up to them, or be overeager. That'll make a bad impression which will show up in the rec.

Well that's just about my only option now, because I never ever talked to any of my Junior year teachers. In my school, that just seems to be how it goes though.
